Who participates in the Section 8 Program?
HAPB Section 8 participants are low-income households whose names reached the top of the waiting list and met our local preference and eligibility guidelines.

Is HAPB waiting list open?
No, the HAPB waiting list is not open and due to the amount of people on the list a date can not be determined when it will re-open or when those currently on the list will be contacted.

How can I apply for Section 8?
You will need to inquire with each Housing Authority when their waiting list will open. HUD list of Housing Authorities: http://www.hud.gov/offices/pih/pha/contacts/

What are your hours of operation?
HAPB office hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. and closed daily for lunch between 12 and 1:00.

How will I know when the waiting list opens?
Each Housing Authority advertises by Public Notice and on their website (if applicable) when their waiting lists open. In addition, you may check this web site regularly.

How long is the wait for housing?
The wait for each Housing Authority varies, and it is impossible to give an estimated amount of time but generally it is several years.

Where can I find someone who will accept my voucher?
Contact the Housing Authority and they will provide a list landlords who are willing to rent to Section 8 participants or visit www.gosection8.com
